Today, although marked by nothing more notable than me knocking out a good chunk of the novel I'm currently reading, was actually quite a momentous day for me as an artist.

On this day, in 2007, I did my first tattoo. Yes, it was but simple kanji that is probably scarred beyond all reason and looks like it was a thousand years-old, but it was my first. I would like to thank all the men that helped me get to where I am. That taught me what I know and adopted me as kid sister. All these gypsy big brothers, Benjamin James, Randy Stout, Bugz, Rich Vogel, Kevin Adams, Teddy Springs, Isaac Mitchell, Tony Geraghty, Justin Strong, and Tivis Phillips. And there were the ladies that encouraged me and gave me confidence, Crystal Goldston, Helena Fowler, and Vicki Rose. And of course, the godfather who gave me a chance, believed in my ability, and passed down his valuable knowledge, Danny Fowler.

I have come into contact with many people in my career, and although I never properly individually thanked every single one of them, I am very thankful for all they have taught me and all the encouragement they gave me along the way.

Now I know I still have a very long way to go before I'm anywhere near where I want to be in my career, and I know I will come into contact with many more great people and talented artists before I am done. But it's days like these where I reflect on where I am and how I got here and feel very grateful to have made it thus far.
